The Fate of Employment Relationships in the Event of Business Transfer

The decision of the Athens Court of First Instance No. 420/2020 was issued, according to which an amount of 500,000 euros plus interest was awarded to our client company, the owner of a property, for the reason that the leasing company violated a term of the lease agreement. Specifically, while the leasing company, a supermarket operator, had leased the space and undertook to carry out all the necessary works for its completion, it refused to proceed with the execution of these works, resulting in the termination of the contract by the owner company for misuse and breach of a contractual term. Following an action brought by the owner company, the court accepted that a breach of contract had occurred and awarded the amount required to complete the completion works.
