Contribution to the International Comparative Legal Guide – Mergers & Acquisitions 2026
We are pleased to announce that Psarakis & Kefalas Law Firm has authored the Greece chapter in the International Comparative Legal Guide – Mergers & Acquisitions 2026.
Contributing authors and the Scope of the Greek chapter
Our associates Dafni Sfyri, Konstantina Daskalopoulou, Archontoula (Anta) Tsogia and Anna-Virginia Poulimenou provide an overview of the Greek legal framework governing mergers and acquisitions.
The chapter examines the applicable regulatory framework, the main transaction structures available under Greek law, takeover bid rules, disclosure obligations and key execution risks in M&A transactions.
Introduction of the FDI screening mechanism (Law 5202/2025)
Special emphasis is placed on Law 5202/2025, which introduced Greece’s first standalone foreign direct investment (FDI) screening mechanism. The new regime adds an additional regulatory layer to cross-border transactions involving strategic sectors of the economy.
Commitment to international legal insight
This contribution reflects Psarakis & Kefalas Law Firm’s ongoing commitment to providing high-level legal analysis and supporting businesses and investors in complex corporate transactions in Greece.
